People come to counselling for many different reasons, and over the years I have worked with hundreds of different people with hundreds of different issues.
There are a couple of areas where I have a special interest:
A difficult relationship with food is something many people have problems with but have no idea how to change.
You may recognise your eating patterns to be an eating disorder such as anorexia or bulimia nervosa, or you may be a compulsive or binge eater. You may be trapped on a never ending treadmill of unsuccessful diet after unsuccessful diet.
Eating disorders can take many forms but they have one thing in common – they make you miserable.
Eating disorders make a sufferer feel confused, out of control, ashamed, embarrassed, abnormal, and reduce their self esteem. Disordered eating is used as a way to deal with difficult emotions and is very difficult to deal with alone.
Counselling provides a safe, confidential place for you to talk about your behaviours, thoughts and feelings around your current issues and enable you to discover less destructive ways to cope for the future.
If it feels like food has become the enemy, don’t struggle on alone. CLICK HERE or ring me now on 01522 704935 for a chat and you can ask me any questions you may have.
I don't work with anorexia nervosa, so please contact your GP for help.
I have been featured on BBC Radio Lincolnshire, and also in Therapy Today, the official journal of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), which is for counselling and psychotherapy professionals talking about compulsive eating.

Long lunches, golf, travel to exotic places, afternoons at the gym, time off whenever you want it. Bliss.
Stress, pressure, cashflow problems, work force problems, working till midnight, hot stuffy hotel rooms, deadlines, breakfast meetings…and on top of all that, guilt – for cancelling yet another date with your partner, or missing a childs school performance
The great thing about being self employed is you can choose which 18 hours a day you work.
As a business owner, manager or executive it can feel like being on a treadmill, working and working without breaks or holidays. It feels like you don’t even have the ‘luxury’ of taking sick leave, and the weight you carry gets heavier… and heavier…
I work with you to look at whats happening in your life and making changes to improve all aspects. I work with proven relaxation techniques, assertiveness techniques, and help improve your communication skills to enable you to say NO.
I will work with you to achieve a healthy work/life balance making it possible to do the job you are passionate about whilst still having a life.
